But I don’t feel any different from 19. Okay, maybe, upon looking back exactly a year ago, yeah, I could’ve grown wiser, a tad more mature, a bit more responsible, but not any taller.
Thanks everyone for giving me pleasant wishes 🙂
RBJ once again dedicated one thread for me on my special day.
My classmates surprised me by wishing me a happy birthday each and presenting me with a handmade card signed by (almost) everyone. Later during lunch, Joycelyn gave me my present from the gang.

A coffee mug that reads “Happy 20 Birthday Nad!”
I really did not expect receiving a present from them. Nor had I expected a card from the class. Maybe my class rocks after all. (Well, compared to 1A01 :P)
I met Jun Wei at Dover MRT station to find him carrying a paper bag in one hand and a guitar on his back.
And to my surprise (and horror), he took me to the middle of the station, took out the guitar, presented me with a single red rose, started strumming the guitar and sang “Happy Birthday” to me.
I could die of embarrassment there and then.
I know lots of girls would be going, “Ooooh. So romantic!” or “How I wish my guy would do that.” I know, I really (really) appreciate it. But I’m not those kind of girls who likes attention from outsiders.
After his performance, he gave me a bouquet of Ferrero Roches (16 chocs!) and that was all he gave me that day. That means he did not follow my wishlist as my things-never-to-get-for-Nadine states:
- Flowers
- Food-stuff (that includes chocolates*)
* Chocolates, however, are permitted only on Valentine’s Day and Christmas Day
I found out later that these were just our first year anniversary gifts. My birthday gift’s going to be a belated one.

Mmmm… Yummy!

I don’t want to sound ungrateful by going “Why not blue?” 😛
We had dinner at Plaza Singapura and after that, sneaks for Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
We went home and at the playground downstairs, he arranged my name on the grass with sparklers and serenaded me with Ronan Keating’s “When You Say Nothing At All” (at the same time, attracting an audience of three young malay boys.)
To be honest, this is one birthday I actually felt like it is my birthday. How odd.

We both look weird here.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!! I’m sorry I couldn’t help it XD
I was about to say that your boyfriend is so sweet but since you’re not the kind of person I’ll keep my mouth shut 😛
I would have freakked out if someone did that in public! There are blue roses!?
Happy Belated Birthday again 😉
