Two More Weeks

Tags: girl · random

I just realised that in two weeks, I’ll no longer be a teen.

That actually sounds really sad to me because I really love and enjoy being a teen despite all the rebellion and constant battles between me and my family.

Being a teenager is like an excuse to do what you want and get hell for it. Mother and Father can no longer pull me by the ear and force me to do exactly what they want. Compromises can be made instead. Guidelines drawn out. Privacy respected. And all of those usual things.

Whenever I start to think and behave in my childish manner, Mother and Father would go, “You’re reaching 15…” or “You’re coming 17…” or even “You’re 18-years-old already…” and (the most recent) “You’re almost 20, almost an adult…”

I loathe these startings. They make me look like I’m still a kid. I can’t help it. They make me feel like one whenever they talk to me. I guess I can’t blame them since I’ve got three younger siblings behind me.

Anyhow, dear Joanne was bugging me to tell the 7ners what I wanted for my birthday and I have kindly made a wishlist to prevent any of them from pulling their hair out in frustration. I’d hate to see my friends go bald because of a silly birthday gift.

And yes, if you’ve noticed, I’ve added some more stuff about me.

I realize as you grow older, you start to have less time for yourself as you spend more time for others. Time will pass ever faster than before… so don’t worry about not being a teenager anymore, but be more concerned about making sure you achieve what you want as soon as possible. I’m 27 now and I thought I was 21 yesterday. :P

eh, i don’t know about turning 20… but I think being a college student is not so bad… hee. anyway, a lot of people think I look 16-18, so the number doesn’t really matter. I mean you can be 20 and feel like 16.

i remember feeling that way when i turned 20, too. i generally liked my early adult years better than my teen year so you never know, the best may still be yet to come!

Yeah.. I realized few days ago that I won’t be a teen anymore in 4 years. I remember when I turned 13 I was like ‘wow!!! I’m a teenager, finally!’ and now I’m nearly 17. :-P Where did time go?
Btw, I just looked at the wishlist and I hope one of your friends will get you the hamsters. You will love them!

Oops, I accidently pressed ‘enter’ before I was done.
So anyways, it also would be nice to get that ibook too. Expect it sounds expensive.. I hope you will get it just the same.
Take care, Nadine!

Sigh, my turn would come next year. Although it is a big thrill turning 20, it would also remind you that we’re all getting older.

But as long as you’re young at heart, nothing else matters. :P

it’s not the number that decides ur age, it’s ur mentality and ur perception that decides it. so no worries, 20 doesn’t mean anything! :P problem-solved! :)
