It’s like an irritating game of guess what the other is trying to say. We go round in circles, never answering the question directly. Instead, we post another question to that question asked and we never get the answer we are looking for. We go around and around until one or the other cannot take it any longer and decides to put the first foot down. Then would things stumble out, hestitantly, pausing every now and then, unsure, afraid. Still, the words come out. But we take them into another account, another meaning, another thing. It becomes another irritating game of guess what the other is trying to put the message across. And this vicious cycle goes on. Until one is willing to wave the white flag, to surrender, to be humilated and hurt.

Or the other just gives up and hangs up the phone instead.
