That’s It

Do YOU think there’s an ‘end’ to the story?
Perspective, isn’t it? To me, it has ended. To others, it hasn’t.
What Per said in my previous entry’s comments made sense. When I wrote The Cat, that ending was my ending. Nothing more.
I guess it was the expectations of readers (in the sense that they were expecting some sort of ‘normal’ ending, perhaps?) that made me recall about past and present writing problems and think about the whole my-english-ain’t-that-good-after-all thing that made me write this entry.
It is just like watching Daenseo-ui Sunjeong (Innocent Steps). When I first found out (way before Nicole) about this movie, I was excited because it was starring my all-time favourite South Korean teenage actress, Moon Geun Young. Furthermore, I saw the trailer and it looked interesting.
Therefore, Jun Wei and I entered GV Plaza, expecting a good Korean movie.
Nicole actually managed to catch this movie three days before I did and she went on and on about how great the movie was and how much she wants to watch it again. I was a tad irritated by her constant “Oh, it’s so nice!” and “Man, I want to watch it again! It’s so nice!” (for three days straight) and wanted to just go, “Shoots, can you be silent?”
I digress.
The movie was nice, funny, a little sad (because I cried at one scene) but it did not make me go, “Man, I want to watch it again!” like most of the Korean chick flicks that I have watched. In fact, I felt that a second time would be too painful to watch. It’s not a bad movie, but it’s just… painful. (Not because it was sad. I am not sure how to explain it but that is how I feel.)
So you see, we—Jun Wei and I—expected something else but the movie did not provide it. Thus, we were disappointed.
