How would you descibe someone as “funny”? Would you say that he/she:

a) makes people laugh by acting or being funny, and/or
b) does the silliest things unintentionally and is totally bewildered when he/she discovers it later?

My best friend, Darren (Png. I have to state his surname because I have another good friend by the same name), made me laugh out loud literally just as I was clocking off from my job.

He texted me asking whether 9####### was my other cellphone line or was someone’s number that I happened to know and used it to text him. It was an odd number that even I don’t have that number in my contact list. So I told him that no, it isn’t mine and no, I don’t know whose it is.

And then replied:

“Cause I saved it under your name, which is rather funny cause it’s been under your name for a while now. So the messages I forwarded to a stranger. And that stranger responded by forwarding it back to me. After I identified myself, that person didn’t reply anymore, so I didn’t bother. Later, if it’s a girl, she might think that I’m trying to hit on her. Not funny.”

When I read that, I was at the bus station waiting for bus 24 and I couldn’t help it but a rather loud “Ha ha ha!” escaped from my grining lips. Strangers turned and stared at me but I ignored them. It’s nice to be tickled by him. Not to mention by a text, too.

I find him funny. Not because he cracks lame/corny jokes or he looks funny or he dresses funny. He is like a normal guy—except that when really unfortunate things happens to him or when he does really silly things (like the above mentioned). Other than that, he is pretty normal.
