First Day

So it is a new semester
Back to school
Good bye lovely hols
Oh, how I shall miss you so

I had a hard time sleeping the night before. I was not too sure why but I kept drifting in and out of sleep. By the time I got up for classes, I was already running late.

I rushed my way to school but somehow, as I reached the lab, I stood outside and looked it, and I felt this familiar feeling of unwantedness. Not having the right mood to start classes, I decided to skip the practical (my first for the semester) and relax at the clubhouse.

The rest of the day passed by rather quickly. Oddly, everyone else seemed to wander off home right after lessons have ended for the day. I found myself walking home from the train station and bumping into Yanru.

Yanru was my schoolmate back in secondary school. We were never particularly close but it was great to have a quick catch up with her as she talked about business plans with me as I related my current school life with her. It brought back some old memories of the old days back in SAC.

I arrived home and logged into MSN and found myself chatting with Firdaus, a very old poly classmate of mine four years ago. He asked me how life was and I told him that school had started today. I must have given him the impression that I was sad to start school because he told me to cheer up as school was a fun place to be in. Then he went on to say, “I remember the first day in poly… You won a prize for sms-ing something…”

The saddest part was that I did not remember such an incident!

I also happened to chat with another polymate, Jason, and he had just recovered his computer which contained really old pictures and videos and sent a few over my way. When I saw them, I could not help but feel the tug of my heart and I view them with nostalgia.
