actually the name, Nadine is a french word thus to be pronounced as Naedin. I guess perhaps people who didn’t recogize that it is french-originated pronounced Nardin instead.

I have people arguing over my name at times too. Some say it’s “Bren-DAH”, Some say it’s “Bren-DER”. Others say is “Brain-der”.

The correct pronounciation is “Bren-DER”. 😛

Ah pronounciations are crazy…I have different variations of my name too. And the not right variation ones tend to annoy me when people use it. xP

i had my boss call me jean for two weeks until he figured out it was a d instead of a j. too funny.

I used to think it was Nair-deen because of “Nad” (rhymes with add) but later learned from an audiobook (hah!) that it was Nay-deen, which definitely sounds better.

i think if i were to meet you and then greet you, it’d be “nae+din” too. 😀

My name’s not to controversial, but I have a friend, C.W., whose name is not “see double u”, but rather, “see-dubya.” O_o

That was pretty hilarious. My lecturer and tutors always pronounce my name wrong, it’s ‘yin’ not ‘ying’, they will always ask me if I’ve an english name (eg. Dayna) but I told them I don’t have, and they will like ‘I’m going to have a hard time remembering her name’. =P

pseudo accented singaporeans are the worst when it comes to pronouncing names. they make a fool of themselves all the time.
