I Don’t Look My Age

Tags: girl

Yesterday, a friend I met at camp nine years ago added me on MSN and started the conversation with:

hey nadine… this is yongfu here… rem me?

Anyway, he agreed that I do not look 20.

Today, at work, I finally met Charlotte, this new staff and she thought I was in secondary school.

Today, at work, a customer asked me how old I am. I said, “20″ and his reaction was huge. I shall not elaborate.

I know I posted this over here but I felt like posting it again:

Our 'Neoprint' Shots

Daren (my best online pal) commented that I look older. I only have to say, “It’s the hair, I guess.”

Now you know why I have trouble trying to watch Brokeback Mountain.

No, it isn’t funny.

Some people think I don’t look my age too, but nothing wrong with that. When you get into your 30s people will probably be envying you for looking so young. XD

i think it’s just because we’re asians: i either look older or younger depending on what i’m wearing and presenting myself that day.

thank you for your comments. :) i love the soothing blue of your layout. ♥

I think that’s true (regarding the asians part) and thank you for your compliments :)

Noooo!! We have the same problem! I tried to buy a cd at this store and it required the customer to be 18. The cashier did a double-take on me and asked for ID. I’m all “What?! I’m 18! Can’t you see? I’m… eigh… teen~!!?” *makes crazy arm-wavy gestures*

And all the cashier said was like, “Yeah but I need your ID to make sure.”

;_; The sad part is that I didn’t have my ID at the time. I really feel your pain.

Hey Nadine. Yes… being Asian has something to do with our looking like we’re 12. Well I don’t look 12 but some of my Asian friends do :) Tis the fountain of youth, I guess!

Take care :)

I actually look younger than my age… But I think what Dani said is true, about how Asians look younger than their age…

To me age does not mean anything and I have always lived by that. People should be as they are and not ruled by numbers. If I didn’t watch things oon Tv I doubt I would even keep track of the time. I never wear a watch, leading my life ruled by numbers annoyed me. The numbers in money, age, people and everything else is annoying. I know it’s sometimes nessicary or otherwise the world might fall apart but you have to have the insane (me) among us.

Anyway, it’s not bad to not look your age. It gives you life long stories to tell. ;)

I have several people telling me that I don’t look my age as well. But I guess it is a blessing in disguise, considering that we are getting older year by hear. (Yikes!) :P

Stay young and feel young, then you’ll look young.

Okay, I am making no sense again.

I’m sure it’s not as bad as it seems :) I’ve been told I look like a 14 year old (I’m actually 16) but with the mentality of a 18 year old . . . . Looking older is overrated, actually.

I know exactly how that feels! Everyone thinks Im 15 or something when they see me, but I actually turn 22 this year, lol :P
But there is one good thing with it; when the rest is old we still look youthfull :P

I’m one of those cursed folks who looks older than I really am. Blekh. It was great for two seconds when I was younger, but it’s quite lame now. As I always say to folks who look younger than their true age: you’re going to love it later in life.

I know you’ve heard it before, but it’s what I always say. Maybe I should get a new phrase. Something like, “Yeah, I see how that could be frustrating.”

Ooh, that’s much better. (:

Later!

did u mean yongfu of yong fook? Hehe.

Asian people look younger than their actual ages, lots can’t guess my real age correctly in this country. Comparing to the western, they already look older than their actual ages. In the end we better look younger than our actual ages than look older than our actual ages ;-)

Um, no. It’s not him.

there are many good reasons to enjoy looking young … most of these reasons you’ll realize more when you’re 10 years older ^_^ haha …

I love those pics. Haha. So cute.

That’s cool, after nine years, adding you to msn. what a feeling it would be.

If you are in those pics, no you don’t look 20. But I think it’s because Asians have a tendency to look younger. What the hey though, in about 10 years, you’ll be glad you look younger! :D

I don’t look like my actual age too, and I enjoy it when people say I look younger. (perhaps I’m short?) I don’t mind if I’m being asked for my IC everytime I watch M18 movies or even NC-16. :p

People say I don’t like my age either. Recently, I went to the bank and the teller I guess didn’t think I was 18 so she said, “Woah you already have your own bank account?” Most people think I’m a freshman or a sophomore in high school :X And you’re probably right; it’s the long hair. Longer hair makes you look younger but I like having long hair so it’s staying!

Weeelll, considering that Brokeback Mountain is R21, you’ll still have trouble with your actual age too!

You can always get a DVD from Johor though! HAHAHA! JK! =D

Those photos are cute, btw!

Well I am 25 years old and a mom and a wife and people think I am only about 18 or 19 years old.It sucks because I people judge me thinking that I am just another young teen mother with two kids I just want the respect of an adult
