She Found Me on Friendster

Tags: memories

No one may know this, but I seem to have lost interest in socialising. One of the online activities that I’ve more or less stopped was checking my Friendster account. They used to send me an email everytime somebody in my friends list updates their blog and I got a tad irritated because some people have nothing better to do but update their blogs on Friendster five times a day and I get over 10 such “Your Friend Has Updated His/Her Blog on Friendster!” emails. Very spam-mish, I must say.

Thus, I turned off that “My Inbox’s Empty; Inform Me!” function and did not have much of an idea the huge re-vamp Friendster has been making.

I logged into my account today to find that I’ve got two new messages, four friend requests and a testimonial. I saw that one of the new requests was from my basketball senior, Sheena.

(Yes, that Sheena. I still remember the mini-argument I had with Serene over Sheena’s full name. Oh, good memories.)

I can’t quite fully describe how I felt. It’s like pulling out a nice memory from the shelf of forgotten, wiping the dust off as a fond smile touches my lips, opening that memory and immersing myself back into those days.

That feeling of nostalgia.

I viewed her photos that were on display and I thought, she looks the same when I last saw her a couple of years ago. However, she did not seem as cute as she was back in secondary school.

That feeling of nostalgia will remain. Till tonight.

Very true. I’ve found some pretty random people on thefacebook (like friendster, but for US colleges). Like the people I went to kindergarten with. ^^;;

Wow… Not many people I know are on Friendster… Hehe, what Oriana said is true, Facebook is awesome to find people you knew, even as far back as kindergarten!

oh and it has a new feature that lists down who viewed your profile. Makes me become mo wary when checking out people.

hey nadine: ryn: umm i’m not sure what the chinese soap opera was called, exactly. something like “angel” in chinese? i forgot - i never paid attention to it :)

stuff like friendster and myspace can link all these people together, but i was too lazy to open one. too much to keep up. but you can get those feelings of nostalgia easily, no?

take care nadine :D
