Back to School

It’s weird going back to your old institution and not seeing a familiar face among the sea of faces.

That was what I had experienced yesterday morning.

For the past week, my emotions went on a roller coaster ride. When I first received news that I’ve been accepted into DMMT, I was ecstatic. I was excited, and I could not wait for the new school year to start.

But after my enrolment, I started to feel apprehensive and afraid.

Being the usual paranoid self, I feared that I would be ostracized by my fellow classmates as most of them would be my brother’s age, three whole years younger than myself.

Furthermore, I realised that I was not placed in any class as I needed my ID and password to be activated in the system. I went to school with a sense of loss and loneliness.

I reached SP to find that I had to wait for two hours before I was called by the admin office to inform me that I was in 1A02—Yong Xuan’s class.

That got me really excited and I started jumping for joy right in front of Farhan and Sonia, right in the middle of Union’s exco room and right inside SAC.

My class is pretty alright. Getting along fine with the lame dudes. The chicks? Well, I don’t really mix well with them but hey, after all, it’s just the second day.

And I’m typing this in the middle of a lab lesson :P (I can almost hear everyone going, “Bad, bad Nadine…” with a disapproving look.) Photoshop’s a wee bit too easy for me.

Aww, man, my emotions have been on a rollercoaster ride for awhile!!! Anyways, hehe, going back to an old school is quite weird! I’ve just done that a week or so ago! But it wasn’t too weird, since I knew a lot of people… Anyways, glad your class is going ok!

three years younger is not that big of an age gap. I bet you’ll mix well.

sorry to hear about that. sounds like a pretty tough situation. i don’t know if this is comforting: but at some point in everyone’s life, they will or have had a day like the one you had. =) i guess it’s one of the harder parts of life.

No need to fear ostracizing, in the worst case, you’ll just have to fall back on your other friends, else I think you’re gonna have a great time.

Always hate “First Day”s. =(
